O'Connell Ends Run in NCAA Championship, Named All-Region May 16, 2012 | O'Connell Ends Run in NCAA Championship, Named All-Region Sophomore Rick O'Connell (Goochland, VA/Goochland) missed the cut of the NCAA Golf Championship after shooting six over par in the first two days but was named a PING All-Region honoree as announced by the GCAA. O'Connell was tied for 85th in the 210 golfer event after the first day. Though shooting a 78 (+6) on day one, the sophomore shot up 52 spots in the ranks after finishing day two at even par. The Tigers currently stand in seventh place in the close match with a 319.
