Hampden-Sydney Golf B Team Earns Three Top 10 Finishes At Glenn Heath Shipbuilders Memorial Tournament

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. -- Sophomore Varun Yerramsetti/Birmingham, Ala. posted a 36-hole score of 75-76--151 to finish third among 68 golfers to lead Hampden-Sydney College at the Glenn Heath Shipbuilders Memorial Tournament on Monday and Tuesday at the Williamsburg Club in Williamsburg.  The Tigers, comprised mostly of their B Team, competed as individuals and enjoyed three Top 10 finishes among five Top 20 efforts during the event.

In addition to the third-place finish by Yerramsetti on the par 72, 6,822-yard layout, H-SC junior John David Gooden/Myrtle Beach, S.C. (76-77) and freshman Hunter Martin/Gloucester (78-75) each had scores of 153, as Martin earned sixth-place on the scorecard tie-breaker and Gooden finished seventh.  Also among the Top 20 overall were sophomore Dylan Taylor/Richmond (80-78--158, T14) and senior Jamie Agnew/Fairfax (78-84--162, T20).  Gooden's opening round of 76 tied his season-best, while his two-day 153 is a season-best for the third-year team member.

Others playing for the Tigers included the freshmen trio of Jimmy Hill/Mechanicsville (83-81--164, T29), Keith Marks/Midlothian (84-88--172, T43) and Henry Ingram/Richmond (93-86--179, T54).

Randolph-Macon finished first on the team leaderboard at 305-304--607, while Yellow Jacket golfer Trey Razzetti placed first individually at 73-73--146.
