Hampden-Sydney Golf B Team Stands Fourth At Hill City Invitational

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- Hampden-Sydney College's B Team posted a first-round score of 330 in men's golf to stand fourth among seven teams at the Hill City Invitational on Monday, March 4, at the Boonsboro Country Club in Lynchburg.  Junior John David Gooden/Myrtle Beach, S.C. is leading the Tigers with his day one score of 76, tied for third among 42 golfers at the par 72, 6,793-yard layout.

Gooden is being followed by freshmen Hunter Martin/Gloucester (83, t-13th), Henry Ingram/Richmond (85, t-21st), Keith Marks/Midlothian (86, t-23rd) and Jimmy Hill/Mechanicsville (92, t-33rd).

The University of Lynchburg is leading its own event with a 314, and Hornet Terrell Branson is the individual leader at three-under 69 through 18 holes.

H-SC will complete its competition in the 36-hole tournament on Tuesday in Lynchburg.
