Golf Finishes Third in Royal Lakes Invitational

FLOWERY BRANCH, GA-The Hampden-Sydney golf team wrapped up play in the Royal Lakes Fall Invitational, finishing third overall in the field of 18. The Tiger finished at 11-over par in the two day event, while Babson and Greensboro tied for first at 8-over par. Bruce Shober (Appomattox, VA/Appomattox) led the way, making the All-Tournament team with a fourth place finish at two-under par (73-69-142).

John Hatcher Ferguson (Rocky Mount, VA/Franklin County) tied for eighth place, using rounds of 70 and 74 to shoot par. Allen Smith (Durham, NC/Durham Academy) seven-over par (75-76-151) to tie for 44th.

Adam Hade (Richmond, VA/Deep Run) and Hunter Martin (Gloucester, VA/Gloucester) each shot ten-over par to tie for 62nd. Hade shot rounds of 78 and 76, and Martin shot a 74 and an 80.

The Tigers return to action in the DIII Golfweek Invitational from October 14-16 at the Sandestin Resort in Miramar Beach, Florida.
