Your first chance to check out the Hampden-Sydney Basketball team will take place on October 27 at 6 pm when the Tigers travel to the University of Richmond for an exhibition contest. Admission is free.

The Spiders, an NCAA Division I member of the Atlantic 10 Conference, went 12-20 last year with a challenging non-conference strength of schedule that ranked 34th in the country. They rebounded in conference play to go 9-9 in the A10 play while advancing to the quarterfinals round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament. Richmond posted a regular season sweep of eventual A10 Tournament Champions Davidson and went to overtime at ACC foe Boston College.

H-SC is looking to bounce back from a 6-20 season that featured a 90-85 win over #23 Emory University and an 83-80 victory against Concordia (TX), who was the preseason favorite to win their conference. The Tigers return Third-Team All-ODAC honoree Malik Crute who led the team in scoring (14.7) and steals (1.5) while ranking second in rebounds (4.2), assists (3.0), and blocks (0.9).
