Basketball Falls in ODAC Tournament First Round

Hampden-Sydney Basketball saw its season end on Tuesday night as the Tigers succumbed 84-63 to Lynchburg College.

THE BASICS

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Tigers struggled to convert from the field all night long while the Hornets established control of the game from the outset
  • H-SC didn't register a point until after 4:10 of play and LC built a 10-point lead by the 14:34 mark
  • Lynchburg would lead by as many as 16 in the first half before going into halftime up 36-21
  • The Tigers found more success scoring from the opening of the second half but were not able to keep up with the Hornets as they led by double digits the entire half

FOR THE FOES

  • Austen Wrighten poured in 27 points with nine rebounds and three assists
  • Logan Seacrist and Connor Schroeder combined for 25

STATS OF THE GAME

  • H-SC shot just 30.6% from the field while LC made 50.9% of their field goal attempts
  • The Hornets had a big advantage on the foul line, going 23-32 compared to 11-15 for the Tigers
