HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-The Hampden-Sydney football team will return home while looking to stay in the win column as the Tigers host ODAC-foe Guilford College on Homecoming weekend.
The Tigers are currently tied with Washington & Lee for second place in the conference at 2-1, while Guilford stands one game back with four other teams at 1-2. Randolph-Macon stands a top the league as the only 3-0 team.
Saturday will mark the 68th meeting between the two teams, with the Tigers holding a 44-23 lead in the series that began in 1920. Since 2000, the Tigers have had nearly all of the success with 17 wins; the Quakers snapped the streak in 2015 with a 33-20 decision.
The last time these two teams met at Everett Stadium, Hampden-Sydney defeated a nationally ranked Guilford team in a thrilling mud soaked filled amidst Hurricane Matthew.
The Tigers have four games remaining in the regular season, with two home (Guilford, Oct. 20; Randolph-Macon, Nov. 10) and two away (Ferrum, Oct. 27; Washington & Lee, Nov. 3).
