HAMPDEN-SYDNEY,VA-The Hampden-Sydney football team will look for its second straight win while staying undefeated in conference play, as the Tigers face the Hornets of Shenandoah University on Saturday afternoon. While Hampden-Sydney is coming off of a 56-27 win over Emory & Henry - in which quarterback Alec Cobb and safety Chad Vanlandingham were named the ODAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively - the Hornets have dropped their last two outings, including a 38-21 loss to Ferrum this past week.
Saturday's match up will feature the top two quarterbacks in the league in Cobb and Shenandoah's Hayden Bauserman. Cobb leads the ODAC with 416.0 passing yards-per-game, and Bauserman, who is second in the league at 340.3 yards-per-game, has thrown a league-high 18 touchdowns to just three interceptions.
This game will mark the seventh meeting between the two teams with the series starting in 2012 when Shenandoah joined the ODAC. Though the Tigers have won five of the six games, there have been good battles with four of the six games being decided by less than a touchdown.
