RICHMOND, VA-The postseason accolades continue to come in for senior wide receiver Cam Johnson (Dillwyn, VA/Buckingham) as he has been named a Lanier Award finalist. The Lanier Award, presented by the Richmond Times-Dispatch and the Touchdown Club of Richmond, is given annually to the best small college player in the state. Johnson was also named the Touchdown Club of Richmond's Offensive End of the Year.
The other two finalists for the Lanier Award, which will be presented on Sunday, December 10 at the Hilton Richmond Hotel, are Washington & Lee running back Josh Breece and Virginia State running back Trenton Cannon.
Johnson had an incredible senior season for the Tigers, leading the nation with 110 receptions and finishing the regular season in the top five in receiving yards with 1,261. Additionally, he led the ODAC with 12 touchdown catches while being named the 2017 ODAC Offensive Player of the Year. In conference play, he averaged 140 yards-per-game, including a program-record 19 catches for 230 yards and two touchdowns. He also hit the 200-yard mark against Emory & Henry, going for 204 yards and a touchdown on 12 catches.
