HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-The Hampden-Sydney Tigers will hit the road while looking to stay undefeated in conference play as they face the Quakers of Guilford College on Saturday, October 7.
The Tigers, 1-0 in the ODAC, are coming off of a 37-27 win over Bridgewater. The Quakers, however, will open up conference play Saturday following two games against Division I opponents, in which they fell 42-21 to Davidson and 56-21 to Jacksonville.
Hampden-Sydney and Guilford will be meeting for the 67th time this weekend, with Hampden-Sydney holding a 43-23 advantage of the series. The Tigers had won 15-straight from 2000-14, but the Quakers snapped the streak in the Tigers' last trip to the Armfield Athletic Center with a 33-20 victory in 2015. The Tigers got back in the win column last season, however, with a 21-15 win over 25th-ranked Guilford in muddy conditions.
After Saturday, the Tigers will take a one-game break from the conference schedule when they host the Apprentice School on Homecoming weekend.
