The Hampden-Sydney Tigers will hit the road for the first time this season while looking to win their second straight game as they head to Newport News to face the Captains of Christopher Newport University.
Each team is coming off a season-opening victory - the Tigers 20-17 over Averett and Christopher Newport 45-17 over Southern Virginia.
Saturday marks the sixth meeting between the two schools in the new rivalry that started in 2012. The Tigers own a slight 3-2 edge in the series, but it was Christopher Newport who took the last meeting with a 45-27 win at Everett Stadium.
The two teams have met twice at POMOCO Stadium with each team claiming a win. Christopher Newport took the first meeting in 2013 17-7, but the Tigers earned a 24-9 victory in 2015.
After Saturday, the Tigers will remain at home for the rest of the month, hosting the Pioneers of Wisconsin-Platteville on the 16th and then Bridgewater in the team's ODAC opener on September 30, following the bye week.
