With the win, the Tigers improve to 1-4 on the season and 1-1 in ODAC play. The Quakers drop to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in conference.

    The Hampden-Sydney football team has been picked second in the annual Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Football Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league coaches. The Tigers, who received one first place vote, tallied 41 points, trailing defending champion and league favorite Washington & Lee who received six first place votes and 48 points.
