FOREST, VA-For the second time in two weeks, Hampden-Sydney has garnered the ODAC Offensive Player of the Week with senior wide receiver Holton Walker (Lynchburg, VA/Brookville) earning the honor for his record-breaking performance in the Tigers' 49-27 win over Emory & Henry.
Walker caught ten passes for 275 yards and three touchdowns, which each going for 30-yards or more. The 275 receiving yards broke his own single-game school-record of 268 yards set against Maryville (Tenn.) in the NCAA Division III playoffs last season. The performance is also the third-best in ODAC single-game history, eclipsing himself on that list as well. He caught scoring passes of 75, 30 and 43 yards, with his first touchdown coming on the Tigers' second possession. Walker leads the ODAC with 843 receiving yards. He's second in receptions (41) and touchdowns (7).
Walker and the 25th-ranked Tigers return to action as they travel to Winchester, Virginia to face the Hornets of Shenandoah on October 25. Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm.
