HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, VA-Hampden-Sydney will hit the road to start its seven-game ODAC schedule in the nation's capital against the Catholic University of America. Both teams enter the game at 2-1 and are coming off of big offensive wins. Prior to their bye week, the Tigers blanked Coast Guard 56-0; last week, the Cardinals nearly matched the Tigers' scoring output, beating Anna Maria 54-25.
Hampden-Sydney and Catholic will be meeting Saturday for the 24th time in a series that began in 1983. The Tigers currently hold a 13-10 advantage in the series, and head coach Marty Favret - a graduate and former offensive coordinator at Catholic - is an impressive 11-3 against his alma mater.
Though the Tigers won the last meeting between the two teams 39-27, Catholic dominated the last meeting in D.C., taking a 41-28 victory in 2012. The 2012 game snapped a three-game winning streak for the Tigers and was the first time Hampden-Sydney had fallen at Catholic under Favret.
