Tigers Go The Distance With #13 UW-Platteville, Fall 38-29 The Hampden-Sydney football team nearly upset 13th-ranked UW-Platteville at home. The Tigers took a 29-21 lead into the half but were hampered by seven fumbles – three of which were lost – and ultimately fell 38-29. The Tigers enter their bye week at 1-2 overall while the Pioneers improve to 2-0.

Johnson Selected to the New York Penn League All-Star Game Last month, former Tiger hurler Reggie Johnson added to his professional resume, being selected and pitching in the New York Penn League All-Star game. Johnson, who signed a contract with the Houston Astros, is in his second year with the organization and has been enjoying an excellent stint with the Tri-City Valley Cats of the Class A Short Season New York Penn League.
