A Message from Coach Main
I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere
appreciation to each and every person who has supported our
Hampden-Sydney College Golf Program, past, present and future. Our
school and golf program have a time-honored tradition of developing
student athletes and gentlemen of exceptional character. We place a
strong emphasis on excellence in the classroom, as well as on the
athletic fields. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be a
part of that.
Since my appointment as Head Golf Coach, in August, 2012, one
of my goals for our program is to compete at the very highest
level, as a perennial Top Ten Team in NCAA Division III Golf,
competing for National Championships. The Hole in One Club funds
are a tremendous help in achieving those goals. By supplementing
our annual operating budget, we have the ability to travel and
compete in National Collegiate Tournaments, with the best D-III
programs in the nation. Our current golf team is comprised of some
very talented young men. Our goal is to nurture and refine their
skills, in order to compete at a very high level. With continued
success, we will have the ability to continue in our efforts to
attract and recruit some of the best qualified young golfers in the
country.
All of your donations to our Hole in One Club go directly to
support our Hampden-Sydney College golf program. With your
continued support, together, we can begin the building process
necessary for developing and maintaining a Division III Golf
dynasty.
We ask that your donation not be seen as an alternative to your
Annual Fund gift, which supports general College needs. All
donations to the Hole-in-One Club go directly to support the
Hampden-Sydney golf program.
