A Message from Coach Laux

I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to everyone who has supported our soccer program over the years. Hampden-Sydney soccer has a rich tradition that spans many generations.

The foundation of the Goal Club will have a tremendous impact on our soccer program. Our players and support staff will benefit greatly from the resources and support generated by this initiative. The Goal Club will also provide us the ability to remain competitive in our recruitment of the highest caliber student-athletes possible. A quick list of our objectives:

- Create a foundation of sustainable support and excitement for the program
- Give supporters a compelling reason to support the program
- Continually improve the value and quality of our program
- Raise funds necessary to help the program be successful
- Use the club and overall program success to help with recruiting

We ask that your donation not be seen as an alternative to your Annual Fund gift, which supports the general College needs. All donations to the Goal Club go directly to the Hampden-Sydney soccer program.

Since 2005 our program has gone 82-57-14. We were named the 12^th most improved program in the country in 2005, had just one conference loss in 2007, were one of the top rated offensive teams in HSC history in 2008, set the school record for wins (16) and shutouts (12) in 2009, and made it to the ODAC championship game in 2010 for just the second time in school history. Our 2010 graduating class is the most successful in school history, our 2011 graduating class is the winningest post-season class in school history, and our current senior class will graduate with an average of 10 wins a season. Additionally, since 2005 we have produced two Rookie of the Year recipients, 92 Academic All-ODAC selections, 40 All-ODAC selections, 16 All-State selections, 6 All-Region selections, 2 Academic All-Americans, and 1 ODAC Scholar Athlete of the Year. We have lost just once to arch rival Randolph-Macon College in the past 8 seasons.
